I also have a family members US cable credentials which I use and share with my circle of friends and family that gives us all access to US cable channel apps (History, A&E, AMC, FX, IFC, TNT, TBS, ESPN, NBC, ABC, Fox, Discovery, TLC, Bravo, Nat Geo and the list goes on and on) free. My in laws have cable in Canada so I'm able to use their credentials to use most of the Canadian apps (Crave, TSN, Sportsnet, etc) for free. Hulu On Demand Commercial Free - 8/9 Months We share every service we subscribe to with 7 - 8 other households that are friends and family all over Canada. TL DR: I'd love to hear what set up you have as far as streaming players, antennas, streaming services, and anything else I've missed, and if you think it's been a fair replacement for cable.Īpple TV 4 / Roku 3 / Antenna / a few iPads & computers But for my assignment purposes, I know other people have different needs, and I'd like to see how creative people have gotten with their solutions.
I'm thinking with an antenna for OTA and then subscriptions to Netflix, Crave and DAZN, we'd be good. On the cable side, we only watch Top Chef, HBO, Jays games and NFL - and I have a soft spot for Big Brother, but I'm willing to drop it if it means saving money. As it stands right now, we already have a ChromeCast and Netflix. If anyone is willing, I'd love to hear what your current set up is for those of you who have dropped cable. I've always had cable, but lately we just can't justify what we pay for how little we watch.
